How far in advance do I need to reserve my chair massage therapist(s)?
Eminence can often accommodate bookings on the same day, however, more notice is preferred, especially when more than one therapist is required for your job. You can book chair massage online anytime or over the phone, 24 hours a day. Specific hours where chair massage is available at your workplace will depend on your company’s needs and how your program is set up. For jobs requiring three or more therapists, please reserve several days to two weeks if possible. Our company can accommodate events 2 month to one year in advance.
How many chair massage therapists should I reserve?
We typically massage on an average of 4-5 people per hour, per therapist. This allows for a solid 10 minutes of hands-on time per person, and a few minutes in between for the therapist to “take a breath” and prepare the chair for the next person. If you have more than 15 people or a limited amount of time we can schedule two or more chair massage therapists to work simultaneously. We can also do as little as 5 minutes per person if you have a large number of people and/or want to control the total cost.
What do I need to do to prepare?
You’ll need to choose an area and designate a clear space at least 5’ x 5’ per therapist where people can take turns on the massage chair. You can schedule time slots in advance, or, depending on the kind of event, people can randomly take turns. When scheduling in advance, we recommend doing 15 minute blocks for each 10 minute massage to ensure that we are able to stay on schedule. Our therapist will bring everything that is required to perform chair massage for the number of people you have estimated for us. You may provide your own ambience such as music and candles if you like, or you may request that we provide this for you. (An additional fee may be incurred based on the extent of your request).
Are there Extra Amenities?
Eminence upon request can accommodate a portable soothing spa music, Scented Candles, Oil/Cream For Upper Neck, Arms & Hands, Full Sports Massage tables and on site chair massage event coordinators
How Does Billing Work?
Payments are made by credit card or ACH transfer on the date services our booked.
Do the therapists need breaks?
This depends on the total amount of time each therapist is working, and how busy they are. Assuming the therapist is working non-stop (one person after another), most can go a few hours without a significant break away from the chair. After three hours or so, assuming there is at least another hour or more to go, a 10 or 15 minute break should be factored in. For shifts lasting more than around 4 hours, we may factor in a 20 – 30 minute unpaid break. If the therapist has down time between clients, an extended break is generally not necessary.
Who are the chair massage therapists you work with?
Our therapists meet all the legal requirements within their jurisdiction to perform chair massage and/or seated acupressure, and possess personal liability insurance. They undergo a rigorous screening process, which includes both an oral and practical interview, in order for us to evaluate their character and skill level. They will show up to your event wearing a black or white uniform(scrubs) unless you have specified otherwise.
Gratuity?
We include a standard 10% or $20 per therapist gratuity (whichever is greater) per day, regardless of the number of hours. You are welcome to add to this if you wish, either as part of your invoice or in cash.
Do You Offer Gift Certificates?
We offer chair massage gift certificates your company can buy for your employees as rewards, or even for another company you do business with.
Tax Exemption Forms
In consideration to each organizations desire to book spa services, Eminence Massage strives to provide affordable services to all customers who venture toward our company. We recognize many large and small business finances and many our exempt from paying federal corporate income tax on income generated from activities that are substantially related to the purposes for which the entity was organized (i.e., to the purposes for which the organization was granted tax-exempt status). There for as a luxury mobile spa service we do not honor tax exempt waivers from any corporate, private institutions etc.
What Should I Wear for a Chair Massage?
Chair massages are fully clothed. Feel free to dress in regular attire. For a better massage experience, your therapist may ask you to remove glasses, hats or bulky jackets and sweaters.
Can we do this on a regular schedule, such as weekly or monthly? Do you offer service contracts?
Certainly. If you wish to use our chair massage services on a regular basis, we may be able to discount your fees more than usual. Another option is an ongoing service agreement. Where there is a high volume, deeper discounts may be possible. Just call to speak with a specialist about your needs. Another great thing about working with Eminence is that you can always try another therapist! Some people find one massage therapist they love, and stick with them forever.
